Founded in 1984, the Michela Schiff Giorgini Foundation supports Egyptological research and publication, with a strong multidisciplinary focus.
It keeps alive the memory of the Italian archaeologist Michela Schiff Giorgini (1923β1977), whose career included the University of Pisa excavations at the temple of Soleb (1957β1977) and work at Sedeinga. The Foundation funds a wide range of initiatives β studies, fieldwork, restoration, and site enhancement β and helps experienced researchers bring key projects to completion.
Since its creation, the Foundation has awarded more than 200 grants supporting studies and publications on the history of the Egyptian and Nubian Nile Valley, from prehistory to Christian times.
